Our Story

Hi! We’re Jessa & Mike.

My husband and I met in 2008 and never thought this is where we would be so many years later! Both coming from families with farming backgrounds we just fell in love with returning back to those roots. I dove into baking with sourdough in 2018 and after making what my husband referred to as “the worst bread he’s ever eaten” I was determined to change that! Flash forward to today and sprinkle in this amazing community and we’ve got ourselves Willhy Farms. We are a sustainable, all natural farm with a flock of crazy animals and a few big ol horses. Our biggest pride is being able to provide food for the community we love so much

About Willhy (will-hi) Farm

Since 2017, our 17-acre farm has blossomed beautiful bounty (say that 5 times fast) in the form of seasonal vegetables, fruits, and flowers almost all year round. We have strong beliefs about treating our planet and ourselves with care—therefore we practice organic farming as it replenishes the soil, we provide pasture for our rescue animals, (including bees, chickens, turkeys, 3 horses, 4 dogs, 4 cats and a mouse), and we strive to use heirloom/heritage varieties with all of our plantings. Our goal with the farm is to provide 90% of our food each year for our household as well as have enough to sell to the local community.

Our bakery is also a large part of Willhy Farms (pronounced Will-hi, which comes from of our family names: Willemsen and Hyland, both farming families). Using local products, every baked good is handmade with love and specialized toward sourdough varieties. You can find our products in various locations across our community, check out our location page for more info.
